Raw Roman Glass Jewellery

This line of jewellery features pieces of rough or “raw” Ancient Roman Glass. Some of these are pieces of raw glass, found near sites of ancient Roman Glass factories in the Middle East. These chunks of raw glass are fragments of raw material that would have been sold to workshops, where they would be melted down again to be blown into glass bowls, cups and other vessels.

Other designs in this collection were made from broken pieces of Roman Glass vessels, jewellery, or other finished products. Unlike our collection of Roman glass pendants set in sterling silver, these fragments are drilled and used as beads in our jewellery designs.

The rough, irregular finish of these glass fragments is evidence of a 2000-year odyssey from ancient Roman times to today. These amazing pieces of jewellery will become your own unique, historical treasure!
